Welcome to Buti Coffee, a journey that began with a rich heritage and a passion for exceptional coffee. Our story traces back to a family of Italian immigrants hailing from the picturesque town of Buti in Tuscany. They embarked on a new adventure, settling in Ouro Fino, Brazil, and establishing the "Fazenda Bom Café," where our coffee journey took root.
For over 150 years, the fertile lands of Fazenda Bom Café have been nurturing coffee beans of the Arabica variety. While the landscape has evolved, with careful tending and adjusting of the coffee plots over time to maximize efficiency and land usage, the unique microclimate, high altitude, and volcanic soil continue to imbue the beans with captivating aromatic and sensory qualities.
Until 2015, the coffees grown on Buti's farms were primarily sold to a local exporter, finding their way to global destinations. However, in 2015, a new chapter began as we introduced our own domestic coffee brands to the Brazilian market: the robust "Bateador Tradicional" and the refined "Bateado Gourmet." This marked our stride towards self-sufficiency, liberating us from intermediaries and placing our products directly in the hands of our valued customers.
In 2018, our commitment to quality and sustainability was recognized with certifications from BSCA and Certifica Minas. These accolades symbolize our dedication to respecting the environment, our community, and our mission to deliver coffee of extraordinary sensory profiles. Building on this success, we unveiled a line of specialty coffee capsules compatible with Nespresso machines in 2019, sharing our passion with coffee enthusiasts across Brazil.
As time progressed, so did our horizons. In 2021, we embarked on a new venture, exporting our green coffee directly to European roasters without intermediaries. The quality and character of our beans made waves in the specialty coffee community. By 2022, we established Buti SRL, headquartered in Padova, Italy. This expansion allowed us to serve artisanal roasters throughout Europe who shared our appreciation for unique micro-lots and specialty coffees.
